CARSON CITY, Nevada – as reported by SignOnSanDiego.com: "Pinon Plaza owner Clark Russell says he has sold the casino he built from the ground up to Jacobs Entertainment Inc., a national gambling corporation, for $14.5 million.
"The announcement Tuesday by Russell, president of Capital City Entertainment Inc., came as a surprise to the 320 Best Western Pinon Plaza Resort employees because of a confidentiality agreement between the seller and buyer.
"Jacobs will buy the improvements on the property, located on the east side of Carson City, and lease the land. Russell said he has no plans to sell his two other properties, the Carson Station hotel-casino and Station Grill.
"The sale will be final pending approval by Nevada casino regulators. That could take several months.
"Jacobs operates properties in Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada and Virginia. It owns the Gold Dust West Casino in Reno, which was acquired by Jacobs' Black Hawk Gaming & Development Co. subsidiary in January 2001...."
