BILOXI, Mississippi – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "February may be the shortest month of the year, but it brought in more revenue than any other month for Coast casinos since they
reopened after Hurricane Katrina.
"The Mississippi State Tax Commission reported gross gambling revenue of $109.6 million last month, edging out the previous post-storm high of $109.59 million, set in September.
"Four holiday events converged in one weekend to help make February a good month. Chinese New Year, President's Day and the weekend before Mardi Gras occurred simultaneously.
"…Statewide, revenue for February totaled $247.97 million. That compares to $197.94 milllion last February and $244.98 million in February 2005.
