Green Day Concert Scheduled at Mandalay Bay Events Center Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV - Reprise Records’ Grammy Award-winning rock band Green Day has announced it will hit the road for its first tour of the United States and Canada in more than three years beginning
Green Day is scheduled to perform August 21st at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Seattle, Wash. in July. The first leg of the tour will cross North America throughout the summer and will include a performance at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Friday, Aug. 21. The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. with special guest Franz Ferdinand.
Tickets priced at $54.50 for general admission floor and $54.50 and $49.50 for reserved seating, not including applicable service charges, go on sale Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. and will be available at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino). Green Day is touring in support of their long-awaited eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, scheduled to be released worldwide Friday, May 15 by Reprise Records. Singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool have been at work writing, arranging and recording the album since early 2006 along with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). The first single, “Know Your Enemy,” was released to radio and digital retailers in April. Green Day recently performed all the songs from 21st Century Breakdown during a series of club shows for hometown fans in Northern California.
21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s first studio album since the 2004 two-time Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera American Idiot. American Idiot debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles and went on to sell more than 12 million copies globally.
