Mohegan Sun and Other Casinos Increase Low-limit Tables to Draw More Visitors

For example, low-limit tables, where bets cannot exceed small sums such as $5 were once a rarity, especially in the newer, high-end casino properties where $25, $50 and $100 tables were the norm. Now they are making a comeback, and their popularity has not gone unnoticed by casino executives.

Mohegan Sun, in Uncasville, Conn., began what it calls its "stimulus, recovery and rebound" efforts in February by introducing six $5 minimum blackjack tables to its mix of more than 300 table games.

By March, the property had effectively tripled the number of low-limit games, adding 12 more games to what was fast becoming a popular pit in the Casino of the Earth, located between Seasons Buffet and Sunrise Square.

At last count, the property's low-limit offerings included 13 blackjack tables, two Spanish 21 tables, one Texas hold 'em game, a roulette table and one Big 6 wheel.

All are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including all major holidays.."
