Back in February, Mohegan Sun announced that starting May 1st, all of its 6,200 current slot machines will be equipped with the state of the art ticket-in, ticket-out system, making for a coin free gaming environment. Under a current gaming compact with the State of Connecticut, Mohegan Sun gives the State 25-percent of the monthly slot revenue. After the completion of its Project Horizon expansion in 2010, Mohegan Sun will be home to over 7,600 slot machines.

Project Horizon is a $740 million expansion at Mohegan Sun that features a new 1,000 room hotel with a unique House of Blues experience, 115,000 square feet of new retail and restaurant space and the new 64,000 square-foot Casino of the Wind.
